I became passionate about the issues facing fatherhood and masculinity in 2008, when I stumbled upon resources that would lead me in an entirely new and direction in life. Several years later, in 2011, at the urging of several friends I created chopperpapa.com, a personal blog where I write about manhood and fatherhood from my own unique perspective. Since that time I’ve come across similar men are sharing their fatherhood and masculine journeys with the world. Men who understand what it means to be strong man and father yet remaining void of the stereotypical habits that most men are deservedly recognized for.
It was the influence of those fellow fathers, men, and writers that I launched Fatherhood Wide Open (FWO) as a way of capturing their wisdom on what it means to be a man and father in the 21st century. My prayer is that FWO will be a resource for men who are interested in delving deeper into what it means to be a man and father . That it will give them a reason to pause and think more sincerely about their own story and that they can use this information to father wide open.
